CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) _ Troy Hudson scored 22 points Saturday night in leading Southern Illinois to a 74-67 win over James Madison.

Tied 27-all, the Salukis (5-3) used a 15-4 run in the first half to take a 42-31 halftime lead. Hudson had two of his five 3-pointers during the run.

The Dukes (4-3) fell behind by as many as 17 points, 69-52, with 4:25 remaining, but rallied with a 15-5 spurt at the end.

Charles Lott’s 17 points and 16 rebounds paced James Madison and Chatney Howard added 14.

Rashad Rucker had 13 points for Southern Illinois, while Monte Jenkins and Shane Hawkins added 12 apiece.

The Salukis made 19-of-31 free throws while the Dukes were only 8-of-18.
