N.Dakota Women Win Div. II Hoops

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) _ Led by Mandy Arndtson’s 23 points and Jenny Crouse’s nine blocked shots, North Dakota repeated as NCAA Division II women’s basketball champions Saturday, beating Emporia State 92-76.

North Dakota (31-1) led 40-32 at the half and shot 51.7 percent (30-58) for the game.

Arndtson grabbed 10 rebounds, as did Crouse, who scored 17 points. Tiffany Pudenz added 18 points and Jaime Pudenz had 16.

Emporia State (33-1) was led by Jurgita Kausaite’s 21 points and 16 rebounds. Aenta Kausaite scored 19 and Nicole Dinkins had 11.

Emporia State shot 33.8 percent (24-71) but the Hornets outrebounded North Dakota 47-40 and were 24-of-33 from the free throw line to 26-of-40 for the Fighting Sioux.

North Dakota had 10 blocked shots and Emporia State had none.
