Contractor charged in Greenwich home-repair scam: cops
GREENWICH — A New York man was charged with allegedly running a home-repair business that did not comply with professional standards.
Robert Karwowski, 43, of Schoolhouse Road, Tuxedo Park, N.Y., was extradited from the Orange County (N.Y.) Correctional Facility to face charges in Greenwich. He was cited for first-degree larceny, a felony, as well as illegal use of a fictitious trade name, violation of home improvement regulations and offering home improvements without a license.
Karwowski was arrested in connection with a repair job on Huntzinger Drive in late May.
Bail was set at $5,000. Greenwich police discovered warrants for Karwowski in East Hartford and Manchester.
