MU’s Office of Career Education to host career expo
HUNTINGTON — Marshall University’s Office of Career Education will host its annual fall career expo next week.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Memorial Student Center lobby and Don Morris room on the Huntington campus. The event is open to all Marshall students, faculty and alumni.
“Our Fall Career Expo is an excellent opportunity for the Marshall community to start networking, building relationships, and even interviewing in a more casual environment,” Jennifer Brown, program manager for internships and experiential learning with the Office of Career Education, said in a news release. “This event is held once a semester and allows recruiters to reach out to the Marshall community for their hiring needs during busy seasons. Participants have the opportunity to gain experiences that provides skills that can be transferred to future careers or even begin those careers.”
Around 90 employers are expected to attend the Fall Career Expo. A continually updated list of registered employers is available at https://www.marshall.edu/career-services/career-expo/.
Denise Hogsett, director of the Office of Career Education, said participants are encouraged to bring resumes and their best networking skills to the event. For tips on how to talk with employers or to have their resume reviewed, they should stop by the Career Services office located at 1681 5th Ave. No appointment is necessary, Hogsett said.
