Swedish Helicopter Crashes in Ocean Off Norway; Two Dead
OSLO, Norway (AP) _ Two people helping with Norway’s annual reindeer roundup were killed today when their helicopter hit a power line and sank into the sea off northern Norway today.
The Swedish pilot, Lars Persson, and Norwegian passenger Lars Johannes Kuhmunen were found dead in the sunken seven-seat helicopter, police said.
The Bell 206B Jet Ranger III helicopter was owned by Arctic Air in Vuoggatiaalme, Sweden. It went down in calm weather between the island of Sandhornoy and Bodoe, on Norway’s northwestern coast, said Eilif Berntsen, of the Norwegian Rescue Center at Bodoe.
