Jonesboro police name officers involved in fatal shooting
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Police in Jonesboro have released the names of two officers involved in the fatal shooting of a homicide suspect.
Police on Friday said officers Brian Bailey and Chris Jefferson are on paid leave pending state police and internal affairs investigations into the shooting death of 47-year-old Rodney Fisher of Jonesboro.
Police have said the officers were investigating suspected drug activity and possible trespassing at a vacant apartment when they encountered Fisher on Thursday.
Fisher was wanted on a murder warrant in the February shooting death of David Allen Marshall of Jonesboro.
Police say Fisher was shot after pointing a handgun at the two officers.
Fisher died later at a hospital.
