Police sort out details of wrong-way crash without injuries
HARTFORD, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police are trying to sort out the details of a crash on Interstate 91 in Hartford that involved four vehicles, including a state police cruiser that had attempted to turn around to pursue a wrong-way driver.
There were no injuries.
Police say that at about 9 a.m. Friday, a southbound trooper on the interstate spotted another vehicle heading north in the southbound lane.
When he attempted to stop and turn around and pursue the vehicle, the cruiser was involved in a collision involving three other vehicles. Police say the driver of the vehicle that was northbound in the southbound lane stopped on his own.
The investigation is continuing.
Police say they will release information in the future about possible legal action against the wrong-way driver.
