Panthers’ Bure Suffers Knee Injury
PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Pavel Bure, who had eight goals in his first six games with the Florida Panthers, left Friday night’s game in Pittsburgh with a slightly strained right knee.
Bure was injured with 2:26 left in the first period while skating up the ice unchecked and did not return for the start of the second period.
Bure will be evaluated again Saturday and his status for that night’s game at Carolina is uncertain.
Since ending a season-long holdout and joining Florida in seven-player trade with Vancouver on Jan. 17, Bure had scored at least one goal in all but one of six games.
He had a goal and two assists Wednesday against Toronto, giving him eight goals and three assists since joining the Panthers. He did not score in nearly nine minutes of ice time Friday before being injured.
