Florida 77, Maryland 57

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Naomi Mobley scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Tuesday night as Florida beat Maryland 77-57 in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament quarterfinals.

The Lady Gators (20-12) used a 10-0 run with about five minutes left in the game to pull away to a 22-point lead.

Florida will play Arkansas at Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday in the semifinals. The Lady Razorbacks defeated Georgia Tech 78-67 Tuesday.

The Lady Gators outrebounded the Terrapins 47-35 and held Maryland (16-15) to 30.8 percent shooting in the second half.

Mobley, a sophomore, notched her 10th double-double of the season. Junior Tamara Stocks added 12 points to become the 15th player in Lady Gators history to score 1,000 points.

This is the first time that three Gators scored their 1,000th point in the same season. Stocks joined teammates Tiffany Travis, who contributed 17 points on the night, and Tonya Washington, who added 16 points and nine rebounds, to accomplish this feat.

Maryland was led by Marche Strickland with 27 points and Rosita Melbourne with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
