Parolee Arrested For Killing Less Than Day After Release
HATFIELD, Pa. (AP) _ A parolee was charged Saturday with killing a 76-year-old man less than 24 hours after leaving prison, police said.
Leidy Scholl called police Friday evening from the laundromat he owned and said he had just been stabbed. When police arrived, they found Scholl already dead of multiple stab wounds.
Police arrested Carl Swiger in a shopping mall Saturday and charged him with murder, authorities said.
Swiger was released on parole Friday morning from the state prison in Frackville, where he had served a sentence for robbery, police said.
Police said they had not determined a motive.
