MIAMI (AP) _ Janet Reno, the former U.S. attorney general who wants to become Florida’s next governor, will be holding a dance party fund-raiser July 19 at Level, a trendy club on Miami’s South Beach.

``Janet is not your typical politician, nor is her campaign for governor a typical campaign,″ Reno campaign spokeswoman Nicole Harburger said Monday. ``We try to do things in a different way.″

Reno’s people aren’t getting any arguments from the camp of Bill McBride, the Tampa lawyer opposing Reno for the state’s Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

``Everybody does all sorts of different things to get support and raise money,″ McBride spokesman Alan Stonecipher said. ``It’s certainly an interesting approach.″

Actors Damon Wayans and Marlon Wayans and singer Ziggy Marley have confirmed they will appear at the party, said club owner Gerry Kelly.

Reno has received campaign help from other celebrities, including former talk-show host Rosie O’Donnell, singer Elton John and ``The West Wing″ star Martin Sheen.

Tickets are $25 each, with all proceeds going to Reno’s campaign fund.

``I’ll pay $25 to go myself, if she can dance around a disco half as well as she can dance around the issues,″ said Todd Harris, a spokesman for Gov. Jeb Bush’s re-election campaign.
