SAGE GROUSE-ENERGY LEASES

BILLINGS, Mont. _ The Trump administration moved forward Thursday with plans to ease restrictions on oil and gas drilling and other activities across millions of acres in the American West that were put in place to protect an imperiled bird species. Land management documents released by the Interior Department show the administration intends to open more areas to leasing and allow waivers for drilling to encroach into the habitat of greater sage grouse. DEVELOPMENT CENTER-UNION COMPLAINT

REDFIELD, S.D. _ A workers union is alleging that the state-run South Dakota Developmental Center is chronically understaffed and puts employees at risk of injury. The union has filed charges with the state Department of Labor and Regulation claiming unfair labor practices at the Redfield facility, where care is provided for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
