Food pantry established in honor of late teacher

November 6, 2017

CONCORD, Vt. (AP) — A gift from the estate of a Vermont teacher known for sharing vegetables from his garden is being used to start a food pantry in his honor.

The Caledonian Record reports that Sid’s Pantry in Concord will officially open its doors in January, but will start its services by providing Thanksgiving baskets.

The pantry is named for the late Sid Patridge, a teacher who worked in Montpelier and Waterford. In his will, he left money to the town, the school and a local health center.

The pantry will operate out of Concord School in partnership with Concord Health Center.
