Pelham, Westford Earn Wins on the Baseball Diamond
Senior Colby Shawver went 4-for-4 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases as the Pelham baseball team opened its season with a 7-4 win over Sanborn in a New Hampshire Division 2 game.
Elsewhere, Westford Academy edged Newton South, 3-2, in a Dual County League game.
Bobby Charette scattered 8 hits and notched 6 strikeouts while going the distance on the mound.
Tyler Pike added an RBI-single in the sixth inning for the Pythons.

Senior left-hander Matt Laverdure was a force on the mound for the Grey Ghosts, limiting Newton South to 3 hits and no walks while striking out 14.
Tyler Guillemette banged out 2 hits and had 1 RBI for Westford (2-1).
Kindred Atwood singled home what proved to be the winning run in the sixth inning. Cole Mazzaferro added 2 hits and knocked in a run.
Oakmont scored 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning while rallying past Tyngsboro in a Midland-Wachusett League game.
Tyler Hapenny had an RBI-single for the Tigers. JT Shaffer, Nolan Michaud and Josh Lesofsky added 1 hit each.
Phil Sutherland and Lesofsky pitched well for Tyngsboro.
Bridgewater-Raynham topped the Indians in a non-league game.
