Buddhist monk to visit Charleston, Huntington
HUNTINGTON — American Buddhist monk Bhante Jayasara will take part in three events in Charleston and Huntington from Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12.
Bhante Jayasara is a resident monk at the Bhavana Society, a Theravadan Buddhist forest monastery and retreat center near High View, West Virginia. All events are free with donations accepted.

The schedule for the visit is as follows:
• Friday, May 10, 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship building, 520 Kanawha Blvd., Charleston. A talk and discussion on “Mindfulness in Daily Living.” No registration required.
• Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.: Silent Day Retreat on “Developing a Meditation Practice”; Peace-Tree Center for Wellness, 5930 Mahood Dr. in Huntington.
