Man arrested in deadly shooting in Springfield neighborhood
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in a shooting that left one dead in a Springfield neighborhood.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that the 33-year-old was booked into jail Wednesday. He is a suspect of shooting 27-year-old Anthony Correa on Monday outside a home. Correa died later at a hospital.
His former boss, Dustin Wisdom, described Correa as a hardworking father. Correa was part of a crew that installed parking blocks, tore out concrete and replaced curbs for Springfield Striping & Sealing.
Wisdom says Correa never seemed to slow down and “wanted to work his way up.” He says he’s “dumbfounded” by his death.
