LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Brian Savage's goal with 7:54 remaining lifted the Phoenix Coyotes to a 2-2 tie with the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday night.

Ziggy Palffy scored both Los Angeles goals.

Savage, whose overtime goal Friday night completed the Coyotes' improbable rally from a 4-0 deficit to a 6-5 victory over the Kings, skated in on a breakaway and put a shot between goaltender Felix Potvin's legs.

Sean Burke made 37 saves, including six in overtime for Phoenix.

Potvin made 32, one in overtime.

Palffy gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead at 10:31 of the third period, putting a backhanded shot past Burke.

The goal was Palffy's sixth over the last three games, including five against the Coyotes.

Palffy opened the scoring at 14:26 of the first period, two seconds after Brad May's roughing penalty expired. Burke stopped Steve Heinze's initial shot and Aaron Miller's rebound try, but was beaten by Palffy from just in front of the crease.

Phoenix tied the score at 15:16 of the second period on Teppo Numminen's goal. Daymond Langkow slid a cross-ice pass through the slot to the left circle where Numminen put a shot over Potvin's left shoulder.

Notes: Phoenix dramatically improved its penalty killing from Friday night, when it allowed four power-play goals in six opportunities.
