Wild Activates Nielsen, Johnson
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) _ The banged-up Minnesota Wild made five roster moves on Friday, including activating forwards Jeff Nielsen and Matt Johnson off the injured reserved list.
The NHL expansion team also activated rookie right wing Maxim Sushinsky (sprained wrist), who did not play in Friday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Both Nielsen, who missed three games with a bruised shoulder, and Johnson, out three games with a sprained finger, returned to action.
To make room on the roster, Minnesota placed center Aaron Gavey (bruised foot) and left wing Cam Stewart (chest wall contusion) on injured reserve.
Minnesota is also missing top-line forwards Marian Gaborik (bruised knee) and Scott Pellerin (shoulder), and defenseman Filip Kuba (pulled side muscle).
