Supervisors agenda light on public discussion
KINGMAN — The Mohave County Board of Supervisors meet today with a full agenda but only three to be discussed publicly in the regular session that begins at 9:30 a.m. in the supervisors’ auditorium at 700 W. Beale St. in Kingman.
There are 42 items on the agenda; the first five are housekeeping items, including a motion to meet in executive session at 9 a.m. to discuss legal options for the final two agenda items: the purchase of leasing of land in the Mohave Valley Irrigation and Draining District in Mohave Valley and joint farm lease agreement with Wakitomoto Farms, and the discussion of an investigation into employee complaints concerning the Development Services and Building Department operations.
Involvement in land acquisition within the MVIDD is an attempt to give the county voting status for water matters within the district. The lease agreement originally was made because water rights attached to the land apply only if the land is used for agricultural purposes.
There are 34 items on the consent agenda with all expected to be approved in a single vote without open discussion.
A public hearing will follow the consent agenda, for discussion and possible action concerning a proposed assisted living facility in the Kingman area, for up to 10 residents.
