Yankees’ Davis To Rehab at Norwich
NORWICH, Conn. (AP) _ Designated hitter Chili Davis began a rehabilitation stint Thursday with the New York Yankees’ Double-A affiliate team.
The 38-year-old Davis joined the Norwich Navigators to rehab an ankle injury, but there was no immediate word on how long he would be with the farm club.
New York signed the 16-year veteran as a free agent Dec. 10, 1997. Davis entered the season with 328 career homers and a .275 lifetime batting average. He hit 30 homers and drove in 90 runs last year in 140 games with the Kansas City Royals.
