December 19, 2018

SCRANTON

A city woman is headed to trial after waiving her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning on charges she severely injured a man in a hit-and-run in July.

Cynthia Petrucci, 24, 1149 W. Locust St., turned herself in on Nov. 9. She was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, a felony, and a summary charge of duty to give information and render aid, according to a criminal complaint.

Police said Petrucci hit Deyvone McNeil with her Jeep Wrangler in the 300 block of North Main Avenue on July 22. McNeil suffered a traumatic brain injury, bruising on his lungs and blood in his brain, according to an affidavit.

Petrucci remains free on $20,000 unsecured bail.
