Mosaic: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
PLYMOUTH, Minn. (AP) _ Mosaic Co. (MOS) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss of $233.1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Plymouth, Minnesota-based company said it had a loss of 60 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 12 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 30 cents per share.
The fertilizer maker posted revenue of $2.18 billion in the period.
Mosaic expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.10 to $1.50 per share.
Mosaic shares have decreased 19% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has increased 13%. The stock has dropped 22% in the last 12 months.
