Thomas Hooker School closed until Monday

January 23, 2019

Bridgeport — Thomas Hooker School will be closed through Monday because of a busted sprinkler.

Schools Superintendent Aresta Johnson made the announcement after students were dismissed early on Wednesday. The sprinkler pipe in the school’s attic busted causing water damage to nine classrooms.

City officials said its department of Public Facilities responded to assess the source of the pipeline burst and damages. The cold weather was to blame.

Hooker School was built in 1927 with a renovation in 2001.
