TEACHER SENTENCED

MERIDAN — A southwest Idaho high school teacher who had sex with a student has been sentenced to 120 days in jail and must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. SENT: 150 words. UPCOMING: 300 words by 4 p.m.

CENTRAL IDAHO-SHEEP RANCHING

BELLEVUE — On a recent Friday morning in September, rancher John Peavey stood waiting outside Wood River Welding on Main Street in Bellevue. His flock, the 2,800 ewes of the Flat Top Sheep Co., was waiting, too, 10 miles south of town. Peavey’s trailer broke an axle hauling the metal piping of a portable corral to meet them for shearing, an annual rite of fall. By Mark Dee of the Idaho Mountain Express. SENT: 1700 words.
