EXCHANGE-DRONES EVERYWHERE

DAVENPORT, Iowa —An Iowa television station is using drones to capture video. Moline-based WQAD-TV was ahead of the TV field two years ago when its first few photographers started studying for a test they never dreamed they’d be taking. They would have to prove to the Federal Aviation Administration that they knew how to safely fly the station’s expensive new drone. By Barb Ickes, Quad-City Times. SENT IN ADVANCE: 1947 words.

EXCHANGE-PRISON FAITH

FORT DODGE, Iowa — At the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, an unusual group is catering to the spiritual needs of those who have no religion at all. Ben O’Donnell is not only the founder of the correctional facility’s humanists group, he also has the distinction of being the first prisoner to become a celebrant — a position similar to a minister — with the secular American Humanist Association. By Joe Sutter, The Messenger. SENT IN ADVANCE: 2097 words.
