Invitae: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Invitae Corp. (NVTA) on Tuesday reported a loss of $29.8 million in its fourth quarter.
The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 40 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 42 cents per share.
The genetic testing company posted revenue of $45.4 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $40.9 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $129.4 million, or $1.94 per share. Revenue was reported as $147.7 million.
Invitae shares have risen 49 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $16.51, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
