NEW YORK (AP) _ The Battle at Bighorn, a made-for-TV golf event in prime time, had the poorest overnight ratings in the three years the exhibition has been held.
The mixed-team match shown on ABC Monday night _ in whichTiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam beat David Duval and Karrie Webb _ drew an overnight rating of 5.9 with a 10 share.
Last year, the prime-time broadcast of Sergio Garcia’s victory over Woods drew an overnight 8.6 rating and 14 share. Two years ago, Woods and Duval had a 7.4 rating and 12 share.
Each rating point represents 1.02 million homes. The share is the percentage of homes with TVs in use. Overnight ratings cover about 63 percent of the nation’s population.
