HUNTINGTON – An investigation is being conducted by the Huntington Police Department after a shooting at a Huntington gas station.

Alan Keeney, 24, was shot in his right lower shin at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a gas station in the 2800 block of 5th Avenue in Huntington. Keeney was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial said Thursday after investigating, police believe a group of individuals got into a fight in the parking lot of the business. What was initially a verbal argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation, with one individual eventually being shot, Dial said.

“We believe the suspect and victim know each other,” he said. “But at this time he’s not being cooperative.”

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information surrounding the shooting should call the Huntington Police Department’s anonymous tip line at 304-696-4444.
