Jaguars Cut Lonnie Marts
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Linebacker Lonnie Marts was waived Monday by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who also safety Marlon McCree and guard Chad Ward, two of their draft choices.
Marts, 32, played in seven games last year, making six tackles and recovering a fumble, before being placed on injured reserve with a groin injury.
He started all 16 games for the Jaguars in 1999, registering 112 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception after signing with the team as a free agent. He previously played for Tennessee, Tampa Bay and Kansas City, which signed him in 1990 as an undrafted free agent from Tulane.
Ward was a sixth-round pick, while McCree was a seventh-round pick from Kentucky.
