Man who raped 2 teens to serve 5 to 7 years in prison
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who raped two 14-year-old girls will spend at least five years in prison.
Andres Peguero, of Lowell, was sentenced Thursday to five to seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple counts of forcible child rape and supplying alcohol to minors.
The Lowell Sun reports that prosecutors say the 21-year-old Peguero and another man plied the girls with alcohol and violently raped them in 2015. Both men were 18 at the time.
Officers found one of the girls lying on the ground on a Lowell street with no shoes, disheveled clothing and bruises on her neck.
Peguero told investigators he didn’t know the girls were underage and the sex was consensual.
The other man’s case is pending.
