Loretta L. Kuerschner

Loretta L. Kuerschner, 94, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the church or to the charity of one’s choice.

Loretta Lydia Saeger was born on Dec. 28, 1923, to George and Lydia (Degner) Saeger in Watertown. On June 20, 1942, she married Herbert Kuerschner at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia.

Loretta was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and was involved with the Ladies Aid and the Missions Guild. She was a foster grandparent for Bethesda in Watertown for many years.

She is survived by her two sons: Richard (Darlene) Kuerschner and Wayne (Patricia) Kuerschner, both of Watertown; five grandchildren: Keith (Penny) Kuerschner, Daryl Kuerschner, both of Watertown, Kristin (Christopher) Higgins of Green Bay, Melissa (Andrew) Henke of Stoughton, McKenna Zenita of Oconomowoc; eight great-grandchildren: Ryan (Emily) Kuerschner, Cory (Holly) Kuerschner, Saoirse Higgins, Ellery Higgins, Juliet Zenita, Dante Zenita, Luca Zenita, Moses Zenita; one great-great-grandchild, Carson Kuerschner; other relatives and friends. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert on Dec. 4, 2001; son Glenn Kuerschner; grandson Kevin Kuerschner; and four siblings: Eldora Riebe, Gilmer Saeger, Marvin Saeger, Waldemar Saeger.
