United Way Works To Meet Its Goal
With less than a week to go, the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties has raised 79 percent of its $3.25 million goal to help improve the education, financial stability and health of county residents.
Participation has been slower than anticipated in the past few weeks, officials said. However, several larger employee campaigns are currently underway or slated to begin soon and volunteers will put in an extra effort to canvas the community to help offset the shortfall.
The United Way’s annual 2018-19 campaign wraps up Thursday with a Campaign Community Celebration, beginning with a cash bar at 5 p.m., at Genetti’s in Dickson City.
