OJAI, Calif. (AP) — Police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two women — ages 59 and 82 — were found dead inside a Southern California home.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responding to a medical call Saturday morning discovered the bodies at the residence in the Oak View area.

Investigators identified Shawn Shirck as a suspect in the deaths. The 25-year-old was arrested Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t known Monday if he has an attorney.

Officials haven’t said what, if any, connection Shirck had to the victims. His bail is set at $1 million.

The Ventura County Star reports the 59-year-old woman lived in Oak View. The 82-year-old was a resident of Ellijay, Georgia. Their names have not been released.

Oak View is a quiet community in a scenic valley northwest of Los Angeles.
