Support for McFarland
Editor, Daily Times:
As a resident of Watertown with a desire to see our city exemplify Wisconsin’s state motto, I will be voting Emily McFarland for mayor on Feb. 19. She embodies all attributes we need in a mayor. We need a mayor who has experience in the government arena, cares for our city and whose ideas align with the goal of moving our city forward.
After years of education here in town, McFarland left to pursue her bachelor’s degree in political science at Carthage College and a master’s in public administration from UW-Oshkosh. In addition she has worked for the U.S. House of Representatives and currently works for the state as well as serving as an alderwoman. Obviously, with this past she has the knowledge and experience required to be a successful mayor.
How can we know she truly cares for our community? Not only did she choose to raise her family here but she also has been part of several committees to improve our city already: Branding, Finance and Public Works among others. I don’t know about you but I would prefer to raise my future children in a city that is focused on the future and growing rather than an aging rundown ghost town doing the same things they have done before.
If you care about the future of our city, vote McFarland for mayor.
