West-side restaurant briefly closes because of roaches

September 27, 2018

Casa Ristorante on West Jefferson Boulevard was briefly closed today while a pest control company dealt with some roaches, the restaurant said.

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health discovered the pests around 1:30 p.m. around a drain and in an electrical panel which prompted the closing. None of the six roaches were near food, a restaurant spokesman said.

Three hours later, a re-inspection indicated the problem was taken care of and the restaurant re-opened around 4:30 p.m., the spokesman said.
