Slow Start for Pelham Costly
PELHAM -- Milford High School raced out to a quick 21-0 lead and went on to post a 35-14 victory over Pelham High in their N.H. Division 3 football game here Friday night.
Milford 35, Pythons 14
Milford received touchdowns from Junior Ughu (2-yard run), Gavin Urda (21-yard pass from Joe Shepard) and Kyle Norstrand (34-yard interception return) right off the bat.
After that, Pelham got on the board just before halftime when Ian Hoey threw an 18-yard scoring pass to Colby Travis. The two-point conversion try failed and Milford led at halftime, 21-6.
In the second half, Milford QB Urda plunged over from one yard out for a touchdown, then later threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Trystyn Shattuck. With 3:47 left, Charlie Katin scored on a 36-yard TD scamper for the Pythons. Hoey tossed the conversion pass to Nick Milano to account for the final.
Pelham will play at Merrimack Valley Regional next Friday night.
