Barletta’s Right: Don’t Believe Polls

August 12, 2018

Editor: Lou Barletta recently said, “Don’t believe the polls.” He was referring to polling that shows Sen. Bob Casey leading Barletta by double digits statewide in the race for the U.S. Senate. Barletta’s statement is one of the few things I agree with him on. Because belief in current polling could lead to complacency on Election Day and it is that same complacency that resulted in Trump’s occupation of the White House. America doesn’t need another Trump sycophant in the Senate. A Congress controlled by reasonable, thoughtful legislators like Bob Casey is the country’s only hope of keeping the reckless and irrational behavior of Trump in check. Take Barletta’s advice. Don’t believe the polls. Be certain to vote on Election Day. Tom Bubul WEST PITTSTON
