Freddy Fender Gets Hollywood Star
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ ``Wasted Days and Wasted Nights″ Tex-Mex country singer Freddy Fender now has his own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
More than 300 people showed up Thursday to witness the unveiling of the Hollywood Boulevard star, the 2,129th dedicated along the famous walkway.
Texas Gov. George W. Bush even wrote to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to endorse the honor.
Fender, whose was born Baldemar Huerta, gained national attention with his hit ``Before The Next Teardrop Falls″ in 1975. He won the Academy of Country Music Association’s new artist award the same year.
