Man found guilty in fatal Arizona shootings of 2 teens
PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona court officials say a man has been found guilty in the killing of two teens in a case that could carry the death penalty.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said Tuesday that a jury on Feb. 14 found 28-year-old Jesus Busso-Estoppellan guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and a weapons charge in the 2011 shooting deaths of 18-year-old Tyler Webster and 19-year-old Olek Wladyszewski.
It says Busso-Estopellan admitted to investigators he lured the victims with a promised drug deal and shot them both as they sat in a car. He told investigators he planned to kill Wladyszewski and killed Webster to ensure there were no witnesses.
The jury will now hear evidence from both sides to determine whether to sentence the defendant to death or life in prison.
