Hempfield man accused of inappropriately touching two female baby-sitters
A Hempfield man is accused of inappropriately touching two girls who were baby-sitting his three children, according to state police.
Gregory T. Bittner, 36, allegedly hugged one of the girls and touched both of their thighs after coming home drunk at about 1 a.m. July 28, police said in an affidavit filed Monday. The girls told troopers that Bittner held both of them down on the couch and tried to kiss them.
They were able to escape and lock themselves in a bedroom before fleeing to a nearby gas station where their mother picked them up and drove them to the police station, according to troopers. Later that morning, police found Bittner passed out in a bedroom closet.
He denied being drunk and said everyone went to sleep after they returned home, according to the complaint. A phone number listed on the complaint for Bittner was not working. His attorney could not immediately be reached.
Bittner is free on $50,000 unsecured bond. He is facing two counts each of false imprisonment, corruption of minors, simple assault and indecent assault and a single count of strangulation. A Sept. 11 preliminary hearing is set.
