Reeseville man bites EMT

February 7, 2019

JUNEAU -- A 27-year-old Reeseville man is alleged to have bitten an EMT who was resuscitating him during a heroin overdose.

Joshua Pick is charged with one felony count of battery to an emergency rescue worker for the incident last month in the town of Portland.

A Dodge County sheriff’s deputy found Pick unresponsive on the floor and began CPR procedures, according to the criminal complaint. While Pick was being helped, the 27-year-old allegedly grabbed the arm of an EMT worker and bit it and which caused bruising to the EMT’s arm.

When questioned, Pick said he was remorseful for what he did and didn’t know why he bit the EMT. He said he had seen a “bunch of strange people” around him and it “freaked” him out a bit, the complaint states.

There is a review hearing scheduled for Pick on Feb. 20. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 21.
