Walk for Recovery Saturday at Cartier Park
September is Recovery Awareness Month — a time for honoring individuals and families recovering from substance abuse addiction — and Connexion Point is celebrating with Walk for Recovery from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Cartier Park.
It’s the first recovery walk in what the substance abuse treatment provider hopes will become an annual event, according to Abbie Vida, communication coordinator.
“This is our first time and we are hoping that it turns into a yearly tradition for the month of September,” Vida said.
The Walk for Recovery will wind through the walking loop at Cartier Park starting at 1 p.m. Participants are asked to enter through the campground entrance on Lakeshore Drive.
