The Gateway Cheerleading Boosters Club is looking for participants for an upcoming skills camp.

The event will be for children age 5 to 12 from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 20, at the Gateway High School Auxiliary Gym.

“It’s for all the little kids where they can try being a cheerleader for fun,” said Mindy Mason, the club’s spokeswoman. “They’ll learn a dance and a cheer and also get a gift and a certificate.”

The varsity cheer squad will teach the dances and cheers.

Mason said the boosters club hosts two events each year to help fund the program. The camp costs $20 if participants register by Oct. 18. At-the-door registration costs $25.

Children from the same age group also can register for the club’s Feb. 2 cheer camp when registering for the October event. That costs $30.

Registration includes a lunch. Parents can eat the same lunch with their children for $6, Mason said.

Register online at gatewaycheerleading.com or by emailing mindy.l.mason@comcast.net.
