Regal, AMC to screen seven best picture nominees
In advance of the Academy Awards, set for Feb. 24, Regal has announced its Best Picture Film Festival, which features seven of the eight best picture nominees.
The festival will be held Friday through Feb. 24. Both Regal Northtown Mall, 4750 N. Division St., and Regal Riverstone, 2416 Old Mill Loop, Coeur d’Alene, are participating in the festival.
AMC River Park Square, 808 W. Main Ave., Suite 334, too will screen seven best picture nominees as part of its two-day Best Picture Showcase, Saturday and Feb. 23.
Regal and AMC will screen “Black Panther” (PG-13), “BlacKkKlansman” (R), “Bohemian Rhapsody” (PG-13), “The Favourite” (R), “Green Book” (PG-13), “A Star Is Born” (R) and “Vice” (R).
Both Regal and AMC refused to screen the eighth best picture nominee, Netflix’s “Roma,” in 2018 and are not including the film in their best picture events.
“Roma” is nominated for nine other awards, including best director (Alfonso Cuarón), best actress (Yalitza Aparicio), best supporting actress (Marina de Tavira) and best foreign language film.
Regal festival passes are $35 and are available through the theater box office and Regal’s mobile app. Regal Crown Club members who buy a festival pass will also receive a $5 concession combo offer with each visit.
