Tucson police identify man fatally shot in homicide case
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Police in Tucson have identified a man who was fatally shot earlier this week.
They say the body of 49-year-old Lester Kirkendall was found on the side of a road with obvious signs of gunshot trauma about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Kirkendall was pronounced dead at the scene.
After speaking with witnesses at the scene, police detectives determined that the homicide didn’t occur where the victim’s body was found.
They say a witness reported seeing a person pull a body out of an older model sedan and then leave the area in the same vehicle.
Police say their investigation is ongoing and they’re following up on leads as they search for a suspect in the fatal shooting.
