Bridges to give keynote address to Alcorn’s fall graduates
LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — An Alcorn State graduate and current board member of the university’s foundation will give the keynote address at this year’s fall commencement.
The university, in a news release, says Dr. Charlie Bridges is honored by the invitation to address graduates during the Friday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. ceremony at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.
Bridges graduated with honors from Alcorn, earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1974. He continued his education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he earned a medical degree. He is currently the chief of Urology at Lallie Kemp Community Hospital in Independence, Louisiana.
Interim President, Dr. Donzell Lee says he believes that Bridges’ success in his career makes him an ideal candidate to inspire the graduates.
