17 injured after school bus crashes in Puerto Rico
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Authorities in Puerto Rico say 17 students have been injured after a school bus crashed near the island’s southern coast.
Emergency Management Agency spokesman Carlos Acevedo says three students are in serious condition and one has been airlifted to a hospital near the capital of San Juan.
Police say the driver lost control of the school bus on Tuesday morning and ran off the highway in the town of Santa Isabel.
The students were headed to Saint Patrick’s Bilingual School, a private school in the southern town of Guayama.
