Construction continues on WV 10

December 30, 2018

HUNTINGTON — Construction continues on a 2-mile stretch of W.Va. 10 in Huntington, which is being repaired to make it safer for motorists.

Upgrades are taking place between the entrance to Huntington High School at Highlander Way and Cedar Crest Drive. The project entails relocating splices of the road in order to straighten the winding lanes, adding a center turning lane and widening the shoulders to make it safer.

The new W.Va. 10 will cut through the hillside behind the machine shop and merge back into the existing lanes near Green Valley Road.

The project is expected to total $15 million and is funded through the West Virginia Division of Highways’ regular programming budget.
