DENVER (AP) _ Joe Sakic scored two power-play goals and Rene Corbet had a goal and an assist as the Colorado Avalanche won their fifth straight, 4-2 over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Sakic’s second goal broke a 2-2 tie at 6:08 of the third period.

Sandis Ozolinsh hit the post, but Sakic got the rebound and flipped it past Calgary goalie Fred Brathwaite. It was Sakic’s eighth goal in his last seven games.

Patrick Roy stopped 22 shots in winning his fourth consecutive start. Roy has allowed two or fewer goals in 16 of his last 21 starts.

Cory Stillman scored his first goal since Dec. 18 and Clarke Wilm got his second shorthanded goal of the year for Calgary, which was 0-for-7 on the power play.

After Wilm’s goal put the Flames up 1-0, Colorado took a 2-1 lead on goals by Sakic and Corbet later in the first.

Calgary tied it in the second period when Stillman scored his first goal in 15 games. He skated past Aaron Miller and beat Roy for his 13th goal of the year.
