Austria to work with YouTube to remove terrorist videos
VIENNA (AP) — Austria’s interior minister says her agency plans to work closely with Google and YouTube to rid them of videos posted by terrorists.
Johanna Mikl-Leitner says the idea is to “remove violent videos from terrorists and radicals as quickly as possible from the net.”
Mikl-Leitner urged all internet users Thursday to report such videos to her ministry so that experts there can pass on the information to the platforms where they are being shown and ask they be purged.
She tells state-run ORF radio that the plan is to be discussed later in the day by a meeting of EU interior ministers.
